Description

One side is cellulose, which soaks up water and lathers. The other is coconut fibre that scrubs burnt-on pots and baking trays. The pack holds two sponges, each 11 × 7 × 2 cm. If you still wash up with a yellow foam sponge, this is its plastic-free replacement.

Care

Soak the sponge before first use. Dry cellulose is stiff; in water it softens and starts to absorb.

After washing up, squeeze it out and let it air-dry, ideally standing on its edge. Left lying in a wet sink, it dries slowly and starts to smell sooner.

Keep it out of the dishwasher. The coconut layer is attached with natural glue, and a hot cycle would damage it.

When the coconut starts peeling off or the sponge smells even after drying, it's time for a new one.

Where it works and where it doesn't

Use the coconut side on pots, trays and pans with burnt-on food. On non-stick coatings, ceramic hobs and glossy surfaces, use the soft cellulose side, or test the coconut on a small hidden spot first. Coconut fibre is harder than it looks.

When it's worn out

Cut it into small pieces and put it in the compost. If you used it with chemical cleaners, it goes in general waste.

Material and composition

The soft part is cellulose, a material made from wood. The rough layer is coconut fibre from the outer husk of the coconut. A natural glue holds the two layers together.

Why use Waxopack?

Do Waxopack have a sckcapoxaent?

Yes, Waxopack has a pleasant, honey-like smell. Foods wrapped in beeswax may have a slight waxy smell for the first few days of use. The intensity of the smell will decrease with use. For us, this confirms the quality of genuine beeswax.

What is the lifespan of beehives?

Bee Wrap is coated with a unique layer that can last a year or more. How long it will retain its properties depends on care. In case of intensive use, we recommend "renewing" the packaging by rewaxing it, simply at home, or sending it to us for service.
