Historically, beeswax was used to preserve goods by the Egyptians. Later, around 1900, people used beeswax napkins to store food or cover containers. We took this concept and gave it its current form.
It is reusable and eco-friendly! Waxopack is easy to clean - just wipe the packaging or rinse with lukewarm water. Food stays fresh without "suffocating", the wax layer is slightly breathable. It is suitable for packaging all foods such as pastries, vegetables, fruit and cheese. The possibilities of use in the household are only up to your imagination. After the end of its useful life, it can serve, for example, as a good fire starter. The packaging is 100% compostable, just cut it into smaller pieces.

Don't do this:
Bee Wrap is coated with a unique layer that can last a year or more. How long it will retain its properties depends on care. In case of intensive use, we recommend "renewing" the packaging by rewaxing it, simply at home, or sending it to us for service.
Bee bags have passed tests and are certified for contact with food. Bee bags are suitable for food with the exception of hot dishes, raw meat and blue cheese. The combination of natural ingredients with 100% organic cotton fabric allows the bee bags to breathe and thus ensure that your food stays fresh longer.
While plastic wraps are mostly single-use, their recycling is almost impossible, and they decompose in nature for decades. They also don't allow baked goods to breathe, increasing the risk of mold.
In contrast, WaxoPacks are a 100% natural and reusable alternative that minimizes plastic waste. Thanks to beeswax and resin, they have antibacterial and antifungal properties. By purchasing WaxoPacks, you also support local production and Slovak beekeepers.
We have 4 standard sizes, we can produce any upon request. Since we are a manufacturer, the dimensions of the Bee Bags produced may vary by +/- 10 mm.
Size S - 19 x 19 cm - size suitable for cut pieces of vegetables, smaller snack bread or covering glasses.
Size M - 25 x 27 cm - suitable for wrapping a roll, a lump of cheese, a cut cucumber.
Size L - 37 x 34 cm - ideal for wrapping snack bread, baguettes, covering sourdough, a pot or a plate.
Size XL - 50 x 44 cm - suitable for wrapping a whole loaf of bread or covering a baking sheet.
It is advisable to "activate" the wax napkin before use, i.e. wrapping food. Using the warmth of your hands, heat the napkin, stretch it out and fold it several times. This will ensure proper adhesion of the beeswax to the food. Only perfectly wrapped food will stay fresh longer. Working with wax packaging is actually very similar to plastic food foil.
After use, gently dust the packaging, or wash it in lukewarm water using a sponge and ecological dishwashing detergent. Let the washed bee packaging dry freely and you can use it again. Sterilize it from time to time, while also sealing the wax layer. Place the bee packaging, placed on baking paper, in a preheated oven at 160 °C for no more than 30 seconds. You can find the step-by-step repair and disinfection procedure on the blog "Molded Food in the Bee Packaging"
It is enough to rinse with cold or lukewarm water. After washing, do not wring the packaging, but let it dry freely like other dishes. If you need to degrease the Beeswax, a biodegradable product without alcohol will be the most suitable. Beeswax is soluble in alcohol!
Yes, you can use a wax wrap in the freezer, but it's good to remember this:
Yes, WaxoPack is hygienic for several reasons.
Its surface is easy to wash thanks to its quality wax coating. The key ingredients – beeswax and pine resin – have natural antibacterial and antifungal (anti-mold) properties, which have long been used for food storage. Additionally, WaxoPacks are regularly tested and certified by the National Reference Laboratory for Food Contact with items like baked goods, cakes, fruits, and vegetables.
Thanks to their beeswax and pine resin content, wax wraps are naturally mold-resistant. However, this protection isn't 100%, so the wraps are not recommended for packaging moldy cheeses, for example. Very fresh baked goods require special attention; it's advisable not to close the bag completely tightly with these, so they can breathe and excess moisture can evaporate, preventing condensation. If mold does appear on the wrap, it can be easily sterilized.
Wax napkins can become stained by certain foods such as beetroot, blueberries, etc. The stain can be removed by rinsing them in lukewarm water or with a detergent suitable for washing food.
Bee Bales are designed and handmade in our workshop at the foot of the Little Carpathians. We select raw materials for production with love and emphasis on quality. Bee Bales consists of a mixture of wax from Slovak beekeepers, organic rapeseedj oil, and pine resin. 100% ORGANIC cotton with the GOTS certificate plays an important role. The materials from which we make Bee Bales are harmless to health and meet the strictest criteria for baby products. The cotton is printed with ecological printing. You can read more about cottons and raw materials on the blog.
The wax layer is bound to the cotton, but it is certainly released in milligrams onto the wrapped objects. It is very easy to see how much wax can get onto the food when you wrap a clear glass with beeswax and then take the wrap off. A small spot of wax will remain on the glass here and there.
Beeswax is naturally yellow in color, we refuse to use industrially bleached beeswax.
Yes, Waxopack has a pleasant, honey-like smell. Foods wrapped in beeswax may have a slight waxy smell for the first few days of use. The intensity of the smell will decrease with use. For us, this confirms the quality of genuine beeswax.
Beeswax is flammable! So keep your wraps away from flames. Do not expose beeswax wraps to heat sources such as microwaves, ovens or dishwashers. Hot foods or liquids are not suitable.
Beeswax is covered with a gray-white coating at low temperatures, which is also called wax bloom. The coating formed is a natural property of wax. If the bee package from us has acquired this wax bloom, for example during cold transport, it is enough to place the package in a warm environment with a temperature of around 38°C. So, it is enough to heat it with the sun, water, or a hair dryer and the coating will disappear.
Pieces of beeswax cut into strips are great for kindling wood when starting a fire, or you can compost them.
With use, the wax layer becomes thinner and the fabric loses its impermeability to liquids and also its adhesion. But that doesn't matter at all, beeswax can be easily serviced at home. Place the beeswax between two sheets of baking paper and iron it a few times with a warm (not too hot) iron. If you have 100% beeswax at home, you can grate a few grams onto the damaged areas and iron. We have prepared a complete guide, see
